J.Cole on the cover of the source

What’s what? Been gone for minute. Was out of town on a job! Yeah they got internet but……. was out of town for a job. Anyway, Just seen the new Source issue (Remember when the Source was THE SOURCE? — F*** Benzino)  J. Cole on the cover and it looks like an interesting read. Might go cop that one….

ohh, and salutes to SMARTENUPNAS.COM

We are the world – 25

I remember watching the original as a youging and absolutely loving it… dropping my cool for a second. Then a few minutes ago I watched the new one….. It started off real nice. Definitely loving this. Then the introduction of the rappers….. I definitely understand what Jay ment when he said….. “Leave that song alone, let’s make a new one.”

1. Wayne and Kanye were cool on this

2. LL cool j/William and them rest of the rappers “Choir-flow” was horrible.

3. That little medley Wyclef throws in at the end is wack…

I think the song’s ruined. Or at least they should have finished at the 4 Min mark. After that its just doo doo.

Also who shot that video…. whack as…. you seen when Janet is singing the chorus with Michael in the background? who deep etched that?

Don’t that change nothing though…. Buy the song and help a people.

Star Wars – Adidas

What’s what?.. So I walk into a Japanese store the other day to drool on some over priced Japanese denim (sorry Mizzy, I’m letting go of that Artful Dodger) and noticed something thats sure to rock the world. Now, Im in no way a nerd. I love Star Trek and write software but I’m fresh as f*ck….. swagger at a million….. trilllion…. without getting side tracked this is what I found in the store….

LUKE, I AM YOUR FATHER!

Diddy (Feat. Rick Ross) – Dirty Money – Angels Remix

Whats what my people? Fresh off the holidays and back on my grind…. anybody seen dime? Anyway, she will pop up. I just seen the video to the Angels remix. Diddy is diddy but Ross came correct! Ross reminds me of a line Jay-z said in a song ways back when he said “you gon fake it till you make it han?” Er’body says how Ross is fake…. Music wise, he comes correct 8 outta 10 times.

Check out the video

Who’s up for some wackness?

And I present to you “T-PAIN” – take your shirt off. I used to ride for t-pain so much…. I hope this is just one of those singles that do not reflect the direction of the album. Do you T-Pain…..

here is the video anyway. You be the judge….

OK, some people are saying this is phat….. you tell me…

Tiger Woods

Ok, this is too HUGE to be ignored. Tiger Woods (net worth estimated to be $650 million), allegedly had a fender bender early Friday morning, it’s being called a minor accident and he sustained some minor injuries (bruises, cuts, blood in his mouth). There have been various theories as to what may have happened. The 650 million-dollar man released a statement, two of the best quotes:

“This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

“The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.”

Uh huh… My Horatio Crane senses are tingling rapidly. Surely something in the milk ain’t clean here, because:

1) Leaving home around 2am to go where?! Or rather, to get away from what?

2) His wife allegedly saved him, using a golf club (ooh the irony!) to break the back window of his Escalade

3) He refuses to speak to the authorities.

Here’s what I think happened : They argued about something, probably about “the other woman”. The wife got really mad and scratched him or even punched him (hence the ‘minor injuries’). He decides to leave, because I mean if he retaliates ..bye bye $650 million…Wife picks golf club as his driving off, strikes the car. Tiger is confused, loses control and violá…accident.

If I had to ask Tiger woods 1 question, it would be : “You claim your wife saved your life. Why did she have to use a golf club, to break the back window of an Escalade  (a huge car ) to get you out of the driver’s  seat?”

The plot thickens by the hour….this is clearly a domestic violence issue. And with that lousy statement Mr. Woods released, I’m sure the majority are saying:

“WE DON’T BELIEVE YOU, YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE!”

2009 AMA’s

Better late than never….Here’s my take on some of the performances that stood out:

Janet Jackson -  Medley of her hits

Ok. First thing I noticed, JJ was lookin a little heavier than what I’m used to! And that seemed to slow her down a bit, nonetheless loved her performance. Nevermind the obvious lip syncing, her performance was awesome.  The ‘ Together Again’ was beautiful (obviously meant for MJ).

Shakira – Give It To Me

One of my favorite performances. Liked how she sang Lil’ Wayne’s part. The dancers were on point, choreography was just right and she aint too bad for a live singer, unlike she-who-will-not-be-named.

Rihanna – Wait Your Turn/ Hard

Oh boy….dressed like she’s going to rock the stage but as usual…it’s just style over substance. ON TO THE NEXT ONE!

Lady Gaga – Bad Romance

Predator couture is in?!  She definitely brought a lot of enthusiasm to her set. The fire / piano part was neat.

Mary J. Blige – I AM

Loved that her set was simple. As usual, she sounded fantastic- one of the best performances of the night.

Whitney Houston – I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.

Loves Whitney but why did it sound like she was talking, instead of singing? That bothered me but overall, she did well.

Alicia Keys – Sleeping With A Broken  Heart.

*sigh* dancing is not for everyone…Alicia’s performance was decent but her dancing was not a good look. And the male dancer was a bit too much, didn’t know whether to watch him or watch her.

Jennifer Lopez – Louboutins

How do you manage to fall on stage, singing a song about Louboutins but you’re wearing sneakers? Anyway, JLO gets mad props for getting up faster than the speed of sound and making it look like the fall was part of her choreography!

Jay Z  ft Alicia Keys – Empire State of Mind

Good performance. The background was a little distracting though. Mr. Carter has  great stage presence (but the hand in the pocket thing didn’t sit right with me)  and looked very dapper. Alicia’s vocal’s were on point.  Can’t lie, I was looking out for Lil’ Mama- I had hoped she would come out again!
